So far my pregnancy journey has been fairly seamless and up until 5 months I could squeeze myself into my super stretch skinnies albeit having to unbutton the waistband at about 3pm. Now I’m embracing my growing bump in the warmer weather and these have been and will continue to be some of my go-to styles for the season ahead.
This parachute vest dress is such an easy style that I’ve already worn so much, it’s really easy to layer up with a denim jacket and scarf on cooler days but also great just with sandals as it gets warmer too. This dress is one size, comes in lots of colours and is only £22. You can also style it with a knot tied at the front off centre to make it a bit more figure hugging so it works at all stages of pregnancy and post-baby too!
These shorter T-Shirt dresses with a chest pocket and dipped hem are also a really easy and comfortable style. I’m hoping my navy one will see me through until the end and beyond! Another £22 number and there are a few colours available. Also if you are braving getting on your heels and going out in the evening at all these look fab styled up with a fancy heel and some summer jewels.
On our ‘off duty’ days you’ll find me mostly in joggers, especially when the weather isn’t great- this is my go-to look for those cooler dress down days! I like that the printed joggers are a slim fit as I feel like I look bigger in loose bottoms that fall from the waist now! A slim vest and a nipped in denim jacket layered up is a great way to show off your bump too! Or our cold- shoulder jersey tops are a looser fit if you prefer.
When it comes to accessorising my motto is usually- bigger, bolder, brighter! Especially when you’re having an off day, it’s a great way to detract from the rest of your look or just make it that bit more special. And we all have off days pregnant or not! A bright Bibi cuff or embellished clutch is perfect!
I’m looking forward to dressing up the bump and getting glam for a couple of summer events, these cross front printed maxi dresses are perfect as they fit neatly over the bump and nip in just above it to show off your shape. At £55 they really look super special and I’d definitely dress them up for a wedding or special occasion.
Another style great for dressing up and down are the snake print tunic dresses, they are £28, one size and will grow with you! They also look cute with a sweatshirt layered over them, trainers heels or sandals, effortless and chic!
For holidaying abroad this summer I think ease and comfort will be at the top of my priorities list- I’ve already had mums warning me about being pregnant in the mid-summer heat so these loose off shoulder styles will be perfect day to night. I love an off-shoulder style for holiday so I can maximise my tanning area!
